ive always run race fuel with my 18cc domes and +4 timing so thats no big deal. im going to get my jugs ported by kevin herr most likely an aggressive dune port i would sacrifice some top end for bottom end in a heart beat. the lightened flywheel is out the door... im gonna see if this clutch burns up i just bought it from cascade a few months back and its in great shape ill just get stiffer springs.

 

im also getting all the easy shift shit like the pancake bearing modded shift star and that shift pro thingy... thanks a lot fellas. :thanks:

 

Pancake bearing has nothing to do with shifting, it's so your clutch ball doesn't weld itself to the shaft.

 

Don't get a modded shift star AND the shift pro...it'll skip shifts on you by accident...do one or the other.

theres alot of guy on here that run both. they say it hard to shift at first but once you get used to it they love them...id say get the star and the shift shaft.

 

edit: man my s key must be sticking, im noticing it dosent type the letter in almost every word with s :)

roost if your intertested im going to sell my stock jugs when i get them back from jeff. they are ported for a 4mil and will come with 64mm prolites. the motor has like 25-30 hours tops on it, if that...also has extended studs for PD head. was ported by alba like a year ago. is more of a power every where port. not a ton of top end but lots of bottom and mid...

im curious why jeff has your jugs.. if you have 25 to 30 hrs on them and ported by alba???? and stock bore..??? pixiedust???

i didnt mean to include the pancake bearing in as part of the clutch i shouldve worded it differently. well i will probably get the modded star then since it is less $$$.

 

Bansh-eman let me know what you want for them im building a shee for the wife that could use my unmolested stock jugs. what is jeff doing with them?

 

you guys are saving me alot of money telling me what i dont need.... i like it :thumbsup:

Jeff has them becasue i did not feel like dealing with another motor nor did i have time so i sent him my whole motor and he is rebuilding it and making me a new cub. so he just has the stocvker sitting there with my parts to return.

I did not "intend" on doing another build after last year but that changed very fast. They have only a hand full of trips on them from last season and i had my wife bike so i didnt ride it all the time. and yes they are stock bore and do not need to be bored out anytime soon. Pistons porting and everything are good with one season on them.

Roost not sure if you caught it on my first post... these are NOT unmolested, they have been ported for a 4mil. they are stock bore but not stock porting. just wanted to clarify that incase you didnt catch it.. let me know and if your still intersted ill shoot you a pm

All depends on who does your drag port...

 

I'd love to see you try and dune with a motor that comes on the pipe from 8000 to 10500 RPM....that's a real drag port....

 

If you don't mind running race fuel...you're set.

Looks like a good combo...

 

I ran a lightened flywheel on my stock port, stock motor with timing and T5s...and I loved it.

I did NOT ride tight trails however, I duned, drag raced and rode wide open trails...

 

I agree with -eman if you are gonna ride tight trails, stick with the stocker flywheel.... It does get on the pipe quick, the R's also fall faster with less weight to keep the engine moving.

 

Dean sundahl does it. And i know what your thinking, he only races desert. But he ports his motors just to get the most power out of them, not to be rideable. Socalinit has some of the pictures of my port job, pm him to see the port job.

i saw those jugs in the images forum very nice!!! they look like they will rip. :thumbsup:

 

Bansh-eman i sent you a pm back. and i was saying that i could throw my stock jugs on her bike.
