LiftdT4R Posted September 16, 2007 Report Posted September 16, 2007 I never put on or have owned a set of exntended a-arms before until these that I bought, I was half drunk when I put them on, and now they don't look right, I think the lowers might be swapped side to side. I tried to compare them to my stockers, but my stockers are like perfect triangles, they look almost like they could go on either side(I know they can't though) Anyway, here's some pics, can anyone tell me if I installed these right? This makes me kinda wonder if I put my bottom end back together right. :yelrotflmao: Quote
Bansh-eman Posted September 16, 2007 Report Posted September 16, 2007 you have the bottom ones swapped. you can look down at them and see that they are angled forward, they need to actually be angled towards the rear of the bike... Quote

That's what I thought when I was looking at the bike, but I'm thinking there's no way I fucked them up that bad. Thanks for the info dude, guess I have a litte more work to do on the front end(on a day when I'm alittle more sober). Quote
RUDEDAWG Posted September 16, 2007 Report Posted September 16, 2007 Hell, they look fine to me just rum them just as they are, make sure you drive backwards so you dont ruin those front tires (of course i'm drunk right now too!) he, he! Quote
LiftdT4R Posted September 17, 2007 Author Report Posted September 17, 2007 Are you guys sure the bottomones are on the wrong side? I tried to swap them side to side today, and the shock mounts on the arms are now where near lining up with the shock mounts on the frame. I'm kinda confused here, I was thinking maybe the pics I have up are right? Any help would be appreciated. Quote
letsgetthisdone Posted September 17, 2007 Report Posted September 17, 2007 if those are +2+1 arms they are on correctly, to get the +1 forward out of them they are goin to be angled towards the front of the bike.. Quote

Yep, they are, they just look weird like that, and I put them on my frame while I was drunk, thanks for the confirm! Quote
letsgetthisdone Posted September 17, 2007 Report Posted September 17, 2007 your shee looks like its gonna turn out to be really nice. what are you plannin on doin for the motor? Quote
Bansh-eman Posted September 17, 2007 Report Posted September 17, 2007 (edited) if those are +2+1 arms they are on correctly, to get the +1 forward out of them they are goin to be angled towards the front of the bike.. my +3 +1 arms do not angle forward. but if the shock mounts do not live up then it kinda answers its self. doesnt look right but if thats the only way they mount up then it has to be what kind of arms are they? LiftdT4R Posted September 17, 2007 Author Report Posted September 17, 2007 your shee looks like its gonna turn out to be really nice. what are you plannin on doin for the motor? Thanks!!! Actually not a heck of a lot on the engine, just a stocker with a cleanup port reeds, cool head, +4 timing, maybe 28mm Keihins and PT Mids(although I'm looking at an RZ engine now), I never had a problem with the power of the bike, just the handling. I'm really shooting for a good reliable bike that I can take on some really really long trail rides. my +3 +1 arms do not angle forward. but if the shock mounts do not live up then it kinda answers its self. doesnt look right but if thats the only way they mount up then it has to be what kind of arms are they? They are the old style lone star arms. I took off the bottoms last night, and this looks like the only way they could go. Doesn't look right to me, but like I said, I've never owned a set of extended a-arms before. Quote
