bigdaddy69 Posted September 6, 2007 Report Posted September 6, 2007 my buddy has a 96 banshee. It wansnt getting spark and after we checked it out the pickup coil was bad. we changed the pickup coil and now when you start it the bastard just revs out like you have the throttle pinned. The bike did have tors but everything is unpluged I checked it myself multiple times.....basically we are all stumped on this one, so any help is greatly appreciated. We leave for little sahara on friday. Quote
jmd0346 Posted September 6, 2007 Report Posted September 6, 2007 Sounds like the throttle is hung open. Maybe the carb slides. I dont see how changing the pick up coil would make it rev out. It has to have air/fuel to do that. Quote
bigdaddy69 Posted September 6, 2007 Author Report Posted September 6, 2007 (edited) we've checked that over and over....and the slides are in the right way also Edited September 6, 2007 by bigdaddy69 Quote
jmd0346 Posted September 6, 2007 Report Posted September 6, 2007 Thats all you guys messed with was the pickup? Id check the idle setting too. I know this sounds like easy stuff but thats usally what the problem turns out being. Something simple. Quote
bigdaddy69 Posted September 6, 2007 Author Report Posted September 6, 2007 you name it we've done it....besides change the voltage regulator. i screwed with the idel screws for a long time and got nothing out of it. we've been up and down the wiring harnes a million times, chanaged the cdi, the coil....basically its just a nightmare and we dont know what the hell is causing it Quote
Snopczynski Posted September 6, 2007 Report Posted September 6, 2007 What else did you mess with? I am thinking maybe something was not properly reinstalled when testing or checking it? It has to be an intake air leak or carb slides, thats the only way it can rev all the way up. Quote
