Hey guys,

I have a 2001 BanShee She is stock in every way with the exception of the following mods.

FMF Gold series Fatty pipes

FMF PowerCore II silencers

FMF Tourqe reeds

FMF Boost Bottle

K&N uni pod filters withe outter wears

Airbox removed

---------------------------------------

I'm going to mainly do trail riding with an occasional blast.

Could someone please give me a clue where to start on jetting, both mains and pilots?

How many turns out for pilot, and what setting on the jet needle?

---------------------------------------

Thank you in advance..

what elevation you riding at?

for sea level to 1500 a good starting point is 320 mains, 27.5 pilots, needle middle clip, 1.5 to 2 turns on the air screw

what is your elevation? The air box removed you should have a stage 3 jet kit installed. That set up looks good so save yourself some money and leave it alone. Also will you be able to ride top end in the trails.

My elevation is approx 550ft about sea level in Tyler/Jacksonville, Texas and the other Place I ride is 1,062Ft above sea level in Natchez, Mississippi...

I don't think I'll be riding top end on any trails, just top end blast getting from one trail to the other in a dried up creek bed, smooth flat sand.

I'll get a Dyno jet Stage 3 jet kit. I purchased some #30 pilot jets today, tomorrow I'll go to Kawasaki and see if they have some 27.5 Pilots because our Yamaha shop didn't have them.

I ride between 550ft and 1,100ft above sea level.

I'll pick up some 320 mains tomorrow and take the 30pilots I bought today back.

Thanks for your input..

you should be able to ride both locations with the same jetting. just keep an eye on your plugs your first few mins to determine if you need to change your jetting

Will do..

I ordered the Moose jet kit, it comes with a 300, 320, and 340 main jets in it. I'm having no luck finding a 27.5 at any local MX/ATV dealers. They said they couldn't even order them.

Any Idea where to get the ver short 27.5 Pilot jets? I placed a wanted ad on here also.

Well i drove 1 hour 1 way to Longview to the Yamaha place there. They said they had the jets, i pre-paid for them, and when I got there this am, of course they didn't have them but said they could order them. So that was a wasted 2 hours of driving. I went to East Texas Off road where my bike is, and I started working on it, The Moose/DynoJet jetting kit did come in, and it came in with different size jets then what it was suppose to have. it had 270s, 280s, and 340s(F-in great, I wanted 320s). So we tried the 340s, and as expected the 340s was wayyy too much fuel, so we put the 280s in and surprising the bike ran really strong once up on the pipe, low end wayyyy lean(25s all i had 1/4 turn), mid wayyy rich..

I installed the FMF Torque reeds, FMF boost bottle, 280 mains, and DynoJet needle#3 groove, Oiled my new K&N Pods with outer warez. In all it was a productive day, with a disappointing end.

I'm gonna wait till i can get some 27.5 pilots that I ordered to come in to pull the needle and move the needle up a click.

I cut the back of my airbox off to make a quick coolant bracket. It may not be pretty but it works fine.

Well here is the update,

I have 30 Pilots and 310 mains in...

with the pilot set at 1/2 turn out, once I get it cranked(shot of carn cleaner), it idles well except popping in the exhaust pipe. The mid-Top end power is unreal I took this as very rich condition on the pilots, so I leaned the pilot to 3 turns out. now she will not idle or stay running. I have to constantly feather the throttle, but there is zero hesitation at 3 out. however mid-and top end have suffered and have nooo power.

Any ideas? What causes it to pop erratcially like that...

and what causes one to run erratic, like onnn/offf,onnnn,of on offffff, onnnnnn offf on off onnnnn(it does this at 3 turns out.
