water weter eating up o rings

well on 2 of my built motors i run water with water weter for cooling ,one with a cool head and one with a tdr head all the o rings were pretty much eat up and disintgrated but only the 2 running water weter , i only have this problem with the water weter additive , has anyone else noticed this

I have never heard of that before. I noticed in your sig that you are running race fuel, that maybe whats doing it. Some race fuels have additives to them that will eat an o-ring

hmm , well they are the only ones i run 110 in .but is dosent explain the top orings on the had that only coolent touches

water wetter will not eat your o rings. it actually has a lubricant to sustain longer life of them preventing them from drying out. if your orings are eatin up something else is causing it

thats what i was thinking , i am going to flush the system

If your running ethylene glycol antifreeze it will corrode away the metal and rubber parts in your cooling system. I run maxima coolanol in my rig and dont have any problems with it.
