I've been fighting a hard start at times & ocassional dieing at idle. I put a new stator on it tonight & it fired up perfect, but when it idles it starts sounding like its firing both cylinders at the same time, off idle it seems fine.

Anyone encountered anything like this?

any help is appreciated.

They are not hitting at the same time, one is not hitting at all. Most likely a carb balance problem. Check the sync and make sure the choke tube is on.

I found out what was causing this today. It turned out that I had to bump my timing back. I'm not sure why, its run fine until I put a stator on, but it running awesome right now & i'm off to dunefest tomorrow, so i'm not gonna question it for a week!!!

thanks for your help.
