Hilarious Posted July 26, 2007 Report Posted July 26, 2007 ok mods aret6's.noss head 21cc domes, pro flo kit k&n filter no lid stock carbs, carbon fiber reeds vito jet kit ok i am in florida so at sea levla problem is this thing wont idle it boggs when u get on the gas and it wont start even when warmed up unless choke is on!!! u have to rev it to the moon to get it to take off. i unplugged the black box for the tors cuz it wansnt getting fire!! i went from 300 main to 190 and running stock pilot did have 30 in there and went down to 25 also i have went from.5 turns to 3 turns out on fuel mixture screw no difference anyone help please please!! also one tailpipe seems to be blowing harder than the other i got 130psi on each cylinder any suggestions??? First of all, put those 300's back in there. 190 is wayyyyyyyy to lean for just pipes let alone pipes and no air box lid. Keep the 25 pilots in and set your air screws to 2 turns out. What are your needles set at? Middle clip? I take it vitos needles? Did you seal up the reed cages and intakes well when you changed out your reeds? Also are you running good pre-mix? Have you got a fresh set of plugs? be a good idea to have plenty of plugs nearby. Sync your carbs, make sure the slides are in correctly and make sure they both move up and down at the same time. Use the screws on top of the tors units to adjust them. ANd make sure the choke cross over tube is in place between the carbs. Quote
dwrracing Posted July 26, 2007 Author Report Posted July 26, 2007 lol my bad i got 290 choke tube is connected o the silver flat head screw on top of the carb were the cable goes in is the slide adjust!! i am soooo stumped right now!!! it just wonr run hardley when i first start it in the morning i have to pull start it!! i did use the old gasketts for the reeds!!! they were in good shape though i could not figure out how to get the carbs synced perfect since the 2 cables like to slide were they go into the 2 into one cable thing!! any help thanks everyone very much Quote
shee rips Posted July 26, 2007 Report Posted July 26, 2007 i may be wrong, so someone correct me if i am but with tors you sync the carbs by adjusting the screws on top of the carbs and check that they are synced by taking off the air filter and looking to see that both slides move at the exact same time. dwrracing Posted July 26, 2007 Author Report Posted July 26, 2007 anyone?? please help i got the yamaha manual but that damn thing is so hard to read and see it sucks!! i thought i had both slides moving at the same time but hell i dunno Quote
peak-j Posted July 31, 2007 Report Posted July 31, 2007 Get rid of the TORS shit first off, if you haven't already, then buy a synchronizing tool. Don't try and eyeball it just go get one. Jeff at F.A.S.T sells them. Have you checked the compression lately? Quote
J-Madd Posted July 31, 2007 Report Posted July 31, 2007 To sync the carbs, you may have to tighten/loosen each individual cable at the carb top (not the big flat idle adjustment screw). Put the needle clip in the middle. It sounds like your way lean on the needles to me. Your mains don't have anything to do with your problem right now, and stock pilots are fine. Quote
