John Posted July 25, 2007 Report Posted July 25, 2007 Well I am completely used to riding my relatively tame Banshee. I scored a mean 2002 from a guy with 20 original hours on it for about 3100 a few weeks back. After running through about 3 tanks of gas I am ready for some upgrades. I was thinking pipes and intake system first. I was debating about Toomey 5s and 6s, but I think maybe Paul Turner Mids might be the best since midrange is where I do most of my riding. As for intakes, I have a K&N filter with outerwear, but I hate K&N they are pieces of shit. I am just trying to figure out what I should try, Toomey has a unit and I know Pro Design seems to be a common one used by you guys. I figure those are the first two things and then probably timing plate and new tires and gearing adjustments. Any info you guys supply me with is very appreciated. I frequent the site but try not too post because 2-strokes are new to me so I really don't have the knowledge to rightfully tell someone something. From what I read so far Toomeys seem to be the choice of most recreational trail riders. Thanks to you guys in advance. Quote
theshee Posted July 25, 2007 Report Posted July 25, 2007 I have Paul Turner Mids, VF3 reeds, a coolhead, K&N pods, and a adj. timing plate on my wifes banshee and it runs good... Its not fast on the top end, but with those pipes it climbs great, and would rip through trails. You would be happy with either pipe, I have never ran them myself, but have always heard toomeys T-5s are the best all around banshee pipes made. Quote

I have a K&N on my bike and it's going in the trash. Any pics Quote
fck4strokes Posted August 2, 2007 Report Posted August 2, 2007 Pods are a single foam or K&N Filter on each Carb. I have them and love em Quote
Michael Jackson Posted August 2, 2007 Report Posted August 2, 2007 pods are 2 seperate k&n's that mount directly onto the backs of the carbs, not a good idea to run them unless you ride in the dunes or on pavement or somethin, without an airbox they would be covered in mud and crap within minutes Quote
Bansheekid07 Posted August 2, 2007 Report Posted August 2, 2007 go with the toomey t-5 pipes. i did those and the jet kit and the air box kit. thats all i got on my shee its great for hills and and stuff. i also just bought a trinity clutch to and im gonna shave the head for more compression getting me more low end. should be a low cost beast. lol good luck.
