WEEMANSHEE Posted July 23, 2007 Report Posted July 23, 2007 JUST BOUGHT A SET OF FMF SST'S FOR MY SHEE!! I WAS WONDERING IF YOU GUYS COULD HELP ME WITH HOW I SHOULD SET MY CARBS; JET SIZE, NEEDLE CLIP, PILOT, AIR SCREW ETC?? THEY WILL BE GOING ON A 95' BASICALLY STOCK EXCEPT SOME BOYESEN PRO SERIES REEDS & AIR BOX LID IS REMOVED. THANKS, IN ADVANCE FOR ANY HELP. BTW; FMF SUGGESTS 260 MAIN, STOCK NEEDLE 3RD POSITION. (DIDN'T KNOW HOW OR IF THE REEDS WOULD EFFECT THEIR RECCOMENDATIONS. Quote
black sunshine Posted July 23, 2007 Report Posted July 23, 2007 (edited) What elevation you at? I'm at 800' and when I put mine on last summer I ended up with 340 mains, 27.5 pilot, and I believe I leaned the clip out one position. Started at 300 and went up from there, even though I thought I'd be working my way down Do some plug chops to see for yourself, you may very well end up with a smaller main than I had. I also had added a K&N with proflow adapter-- I think this breathes a little easier than your foam one and would require more fuel. Hope this helps! There are a few others on here with SSTs, maybe they have more advice to give you. Did you have any fitment issues with the pipes BTW? Edited July 23, 2007 by black sunshine Quote
WEEMANSHEE Posted July 24, 2007 Author Report Posted July 24, 2007 Sorry forgot to mention I'm at 1000', with avg. Temp. 85. I just ordered the pipes & am trying to get an idea on a starting point on the jetting. I was hoping you guy's might give me a basic idea what jets i might need to get plus minus a couple of sizes either way. Did you have fitment issues & how do you like your pipes??? Thanks, for the info!! Quote
