awesomeame Posted July 21, 2007 Report Posted July 21, 2007 just like the title says, is it possible to change main jets without removing the carb from the bike?? any tips/tricks? --matt Quote
peak-j Posted July 21, 2007 Report Posted July 21, 2007 On stock carbs, I'd say it would be pretty tough. Maybe if you pulled the tops off and rotated them around. Never have tried it though. Quote
ClimbAnyHill Posted July 21, 2007 Report Posted July 21, 2007 Oh yeah, it's simple. Tors & airbox is removed which makes it easy to get around. I remove the pod filters & loosen the carb from the intake. Then simply twist the carb & go to work. I replaced the bowl screws with allen heads so it's even easier now. It wouldn't hurt to give those carb parts a splash of carb cleaner while you're in there  Quote
csrmel Posted July 22, 2007 Report Posted July 22, 2007 even with tors on you cah change jets while the carbs are still in the frame. just disconnect the tors plug and unscrew the carb clamps. disconnect the fuel lines, drain the carbs, bla bla bla. pull the carb just out of the intake and twist it 90 degrees. pull the bowls and change the jets. put it back together and go. i have tors and while i will admit it is a bit more difficult to change jets compared to a carb with tors removed,, its still no big deal. it is a simple twin cylinder engine afterall. there isnt a single complicated thing on a banshee.
