 How do you tell what size domes you have? I bought the banshee with the cool heads with "high compression" domes but the guy could not give the size. I need to know what would be the optimal size dome for my 4 mil motor with 39 mm khein alcohol carbs. I am converting from racing fuel and lectrons to alky.

18 to 19 cc domes....

Put a spark plug in the dome, get a piece of plexiglass, drill a hole in the middle of it (it has to seal all around the dome)

Get a graduated syringe, fill it with more than enough water (say, 22cc's) and see how much the dome holds. Put the hole in the center of the plexi so you can seal it to the dome and add water...

I run 20cc domes in my 10 mil with about 175PSI.....045 squish....

Really, 165 to 180 PSI and .040 to .050 squish is optimal in my opinion....it's what's worked well for me in the past!

Buy a new Oring kit. I never reuse the Orings, it's 20 bucks for a new kit, and covers ALL the stud rings, plate and cylinder orings.

It's simply not worth it to me to reuse them.

I'm a recent convert of how to put it back together...

I used to RTV all the orings, slight coat.

Now...

A little grease on the dome Orings so they don't fall. Use a hair of RTV on the studs and tighten it in sequence (in the clymers) to 10, then 15, then 20 ft. lbs....in sequence.

Warm it up, check torque again once it cools down.
