hi guys, should i just grab one of those cast $35 ones off ebay or are they not accurate etc...

dont really care about it being billet for the looks, but if it is more accurate then i will get one of them..

what does everyone think of the cast rmstator timing plates?

would like to hear from people who have recently bought and installed a timing plate.

thanks, mark

also will any adjustable timing plate fit an rz350 engine or do you have to get a different one?

is a dynatek fs something you use instead of an adjustable timing plate, or with it?

what is the advantage to it? ie it is programmable but why is that good?

also is it easy to program/change etc??

thanks, mark

Pm majicmike and get a billet plate from him. They are great. They dont strip out like RS junk does.

They programmable dyna is just that, a programmable ignition.

Here's the best part about a dyna over a timing plate.

If you use a timing plate (I use both, by the way, a Dyna and a timing plate) you advance the timing across the entire RPM range. Idle to Peak RPM...

If you use a Dyna....you can advance the timing at lower RPMs for more punch, and slowly retard it as the RPMs raise for more over rev...

However...a Dyna is triple the price of a billet timing plate. Plus, you'll have to spend 100 bucks on a cable and software to program it...and have access to a dyno and dyno time to tune it in.

So....if you're looking for cutting edge performance...and about 500 to spend on the igntion and dyno time/tuning time (and you'll need a laptop too...:) the I say go for it.

I haven't had a problem with the el cheapo cast Ricky Stator plate. Then again, I use the proper screw driver to loosen the pickup coil to adjust the air gap on it, too....

I wouldn't pay nearly 80 to 100 bucks for a billet plate, sorry.

That being said...Majic Mike is a great guy to do biz with...honest guy with good prices. He won't steer you wrong.

will a ricky stator plate work on a rz bottem end??

im guessing it will but would like some advice before i buy!

thanks, mark

If you endup going with a ricky stator adj timing plate. I got one I would sell you $25 shipped. Looks new other than where the bolts go that hold it to the motor. I have good feedback on here. Just ask Dajogejr
