Mxjunkie69 Posted June 24, 2007 Report Posted June 24, 2007 (edited) Well guy's I have some sort of eletrical gremlin that keeps appearing every couple weeks for some odd reason! I was out riding today praticing for a cross country race tomorrow, I wasn't in any water or mud. I was coming into a turn and my banshee suddenly shut off completely, I couldnt get it to fire back up so I pushed it a mile through the woods to my house, I found a buddy with a truck and he towed me back, as he was towing me I tryed to jump start it with no such luck! I got it home and I checked to see if it had spark and there is none I've checked every connection and cleaned them throughly I cannot understand why it's doing what it's doing! The t.o.r.s was removed 2 years ago and the black box under the tank is gone etc.. snowmanzz13 Posted June 24, 2007 Report Posted June 24, 2007 lol i'm all for that not spending money, i know you can check the ohms for the coil but i don't have my banshee book here to tell you where it should be, maybe someone can llok it up for you, but i remeber when my dad put motor back together and i started and ran it for like a minute when it cut out and my dad took off and was like hope you can figure it out before i get back!! i was like thanks, i followed the book checking everything untill i pulled the left side cover off an the nut was jus layin there so i did it as tie as i could put it back together and started it and that turned out to be my culprit, then ripped it back apart and lock tited everything Quote
Snopczynski Posted June 24, 2007 Report Posted June 24, 2007 Check the flywheel pickup and make sure it is not damaged or has been rubbing on the flywheel magnets. They usually rub and heat up then go bad. If it looks ok and ohms ok with a meter, I would start leaning towards a bad stator and check that with the meter. Quote
