jeffjunkyard Posted June 23, 2007 Report Posted June 23, 2007 Hi i just bought my first banshee and the damn thing dosent want to shift the gears like normal. when it isnt running and try to shift if into neutral it is virtually impossible. and when it is running its hard to shift the gears especially downshifting. the clutch isnt slipping at all and it has fluid. Im new to the world of banshees so if anyone can help me figure it out it would be appreciated alot. Or maybe there is something i am missing. Thankyou Quote

Pull your clutch cover and check that the adjustment bolt on the arm that grabs your shift star is adjusted correctly and check that the two springs on the arm aren't worn out. If the shift star area looks fine it might be worn out forks. Quote

Thankyou Clutch disengagement problems will cause this every time. However, downshifts should be pretty easy without the clutch. If it will not take any gears easily, look at the clutch first and then, yes, you may have some bent shift forks from some super foot happy shifters. Brandon Quote
jeffjunkyard Posted June 23, 2007 Author Report Posted June 23, 2007 well i took off the clutch cover off and got the shift shaft out and the spring on the end of the arms that grabs the star gear are preety worn out and i was messing with it a little befor i took it out bu trying to shift up and down and the arms would even barely grab the star gear to change gears because of the worn out spring. thanks for ur help it is greatly APPRECIATED. extreem9 Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 You should change the oil in your case first and go ride it a little. Get some belray clutch saver 80 wieght 1.6 quarts and see how she does. Quote
