375hp banshees Posted June 19, 2007 Report Posted June 19, 2007 The flames are really pretty easy to paint. I bought a couple dvd's done by Mike Lavalle that shows you the basic ways to build the layers and tells you what colors of paint to use and how to mix them. If your thinking of doing something like this, I would definately recommend getting the vidoes. The first video shows how to do the orange and yellow true fire and the second shows how to do green and blue. I really haven't thought about how much I'd charge to do it. This is actually the first time I've used uro based paints so it's still kind of expirimenting and learning for me. thats one damn good looking expiriment!!!! Quote
theshee Posted June 19, 2007 Report Posted June 19, 2007 Damn I like how those turned out... everytime I walk in the damn garage Im staring at that damn thing!! Cant wait to see that bitch all done! Quote

530grafix Posted June 19, 2007 Report Posted June 19, 2007 Finally had a little time to get my plastics painted. Let me know what ya' think. Thanks for looking. those look very good. try another layer or two to give it added depth. Great work keep it up...... Quote

Thanks, I think one of the things that hurt my depth was my third layer of candy was mixed just a little too dark. One of the things you can't see in the pictures that really helps it look, is theres some pearl in there to give it some flash. There's a few things I would change in there, but I can't complain being it was my first real paint job. Quote
okbeast Posted June 19, 2007 Report Posted June 19, 2007 Looks very nice, what kinda a-arms are those? Quote

ghost rider Posted June 21, 2007 Author Report Posted June 21, 2007 Well, the more I looked at that green frame, the less I liked it, so I decided to change it. I think the fire stands out a little better on the black frame. Thanks for looking. Quote

ClimbAnyHill Posted June 21, 2007 Report Posted June 21, 2007 You'll only get better at the airbrush from here on and those flames look pretty toxic & very well detailed. They look very cool  and since I'm a big fan of black & have to agree the plastics sit better on the black frame, really brings out the fiya!!!!! Quote
