Speed freak Posted June 4, 2007 Report Posted June 4, 2007 When I put my 421 cheetah powervalve together it had 160psi compression and I was running +8 on my timing now that the motor is broke in im at 145 -150 psi compression I put my timing plate back to 0 and am running the dyna ignition so basically I am at the point that I dont have the compression to run 110 but with the dyna controlling the timing could I just run some 100 octane? SoCalinIt Posted June 4, 2007 Report Posted June 4, 2007 With your compression that low I'd say you would be fine running 100... I'm around the 170 mark, and only +4 on the timing on my cub... I'm running 110 at sea level. Seems to work really well. Hope this helps! Quote
dajogejr Posted June 4, 2007 Report Posted June 4, 2007 Honestly.... I'd run the plate at 5 to 8, set the Dyna on curve 3....and run 110 octane. It will rip...flat out. Quote
Speed freak Posted June 5, 2007 Author Report Posted June 5, 2007 my buddy just came over and we used his compression gauge and his shows I have 185psi in each cylinder ..found a small hole in the line on the one I was using so I guess 110 is fine Quote
dajogejr Posted June 5, 2007 Report Posted June 5, 2007 Yeah, with that much pop, anything less than 110 would be crazy not to run... Quote
