sometime it will sound like BB's knocking aorund inside your motor... pull your head and check the top of your pistons and your domes for pitting

at 170 id be runing race gas

Well I got a can of 50/50 mix right now, I am gonna take it out tommorow and see how it does, If it even sputters wrong, I will drain the gas and run straight race.

signs are:

rattling out of spark plugs,

plugs are gray in color and fluffy looking,

the strap is being closed together,

the strap and electrode are being eaten off the plug,

these are the easiest ways to notice it,

you need at least 100 octane imo.

You should be just fine with the 50/50 with that comp number. If you are mixing 92 octane with 108, you would< in theory, have 100 octane fuel. Now I really don't agree with than math because you still have fuel that is low on the crack scale. I do agree it raises the octane but not on an average scale. I always recommend one or the other. You may be just fine with standard pump fuel in that motor.
