RebelliousRacing Posted May 19, 2007 Report Posted May 19, 2007 (edited) i have 98 banshee mostly stock other than pipes. well anyways the tors is unplugged. the quad starts up fine but if you run down the road not under full throttle in any gear the right side seems to cut out. if you give it WOT then the right side starts working? also last year before it went into storage i was out riding one night and one cylinder completely dropped out. dont remember which one. it wouldnt fire at all. i let it sit for a little while and then it worked fine and then did it again. so i let it sit and it was fine and hasnt done it since.compression is good. it starts up right away. it just doenst seem to fir one the right cylinder until you stuff it? Sounds like carb tuning and balancing. Might check to see if the needle on that side has fallen down. Also check the pilot jet for a clog. They will still affect mid throttle openings. Really sounds like carb balance though. Brandon Quote

LIM_Whiteboy4life Posted May 19, 2007 Report Posted May 19, 2007 (edited) Its always good to pull and clean the carbs. Check your fuel line's while your at it and if you notice the lines are kinda uneven from factory so if you run low on fuel it doesnt supply the carbs evenly until you gun it and sucks more fuel in so keep it filled up and/or redo your lines so there supplying both carbs evenly. Worked for me when it idled on one cylinder when it was on 1/4 tank or less. Edited May 19, 2007 by LIM_Whiteboy4life Quote

Hilarious Posted May 19, 2007 Report Posted May 19, 2007 Is the choke crossover tube connected between the carbs? Is your air filter clean? What kinda shape are your reeds in? Quote
LIM_Whiteboy4life Posted May 20, 2007 Report Posted May 20, 2007 yeah new lines equal length with help just route the left line around the left side of the carb and zip tie the line to the "gold" retaining clip that holds the carb top still so it doesnt rub on the pipe for the right side carb just run one equal length straight down to it and try to get the "T" split line fitting as level as you can. I took a bunch of pics but my computer needs software for the attachment. Before you top it off pull the petcock valve off the tank and check the filter and see if it got any trash in it. then top her off and rip  Quote
