layinlowtruck Posted May 20, 2007 Report Posted May 20, 2007 It just sounds like you would be better off just getting another banshee. That would be the easiest way but not really suitable for your needs at this time. Quote
CRAZY-SHEE! Posted May 20, 2007 Author Report Posted May 20, 2007 dont have the money to put another 15k into a banshee O.o beliuve me guys, this will work. i have the original 25 min prep time and i normally come in an hour early anyway. Quote

CRAZY-SHEE! Posted May 21, 2007 Author Report Posted May 21, 2007 the tread wasnt supposed to be weather or not i SHOULD do it, but weather or not i COULD do it. i had no idea if i could, didnt know if id blow the motor or something like that, so i asked  Quote
Snopczynski Posted May 21, 2007 Report Posted May 21, 2007 I think that if you had to ask us that, then you probably couldn't and shouldn't be doing it? Have you ever even put an o-ring head on before? Cause it sounds like you haven't. Quote
CRAZY-SHEE! Posted May 21, 2007 Author Report Posted May 21, 2007 I took apart and have built many banshees in my day. I am unaware of the chemical effects that race fuel could have on an engine that will be broken in, and for the most part, ridden on pump. It could have a higher heat for instance, bringing the cylinders to a hotter heat then theyve ever been, and that could cause some damage. I dont know, thats why i asked. :ermm: Quote

Snopczynski Posted May 21, 2007 Report Posted May 21, 2007 Lets call John Force's pit crew chief and see if his crew can do it in that time. Quote
CRAZY-SHEE! Posted May 21, 2007 Author Report Posted May 21, 2007 leave house at 5 get there at 7 screw around until 4- begin changing domes races start at 5 AND i have my 25 min prep. go home, switch the domes back coolant- 10$ every 2 swaps- o ring kit, ill have 3 on hand.. 20$ each Now then.. My class- 3rd place- $100, a cold one, and a Hat 2nd place- $250, a cold one, and a jersey 1st place- $1000, 6 pack, that classes trophy, for that class that weekends mystery ATV part, and REP. ( until at least, next weekend  ) the trophy gets passed around every 2 weekends to the winner. now.. do u think its worth it? cause i sure as hell do. i personally have only ever gotten to 3rd place :: and thats only because the big-time dogs didnt show up. the entry fee is $75 and anything goes pretty much. u should seem some of the crazy things people come up with out there. class goes by age then wieght. Snopczynski Posted May 21, 2007 Report Posted May 21, 2007 So let me ask you this: How much are you losing to the big dogs by? Quote
2003LimitedBanshee Posted May 21, 2007 Report Posted May 21, 2007 I must agree that it seems you had your mind made up on this before you posted. There is nothing limiting you from doing this if you want to, it's not like switching from Alky to Gas and back. But if there is "big money" thrown around, why are you worrying about running race fuel all the time if you are throwing it out there? Try buying it by the drum. I pay just under $6/gal when I buy a drum of Trick 114. Plus as was mentioned, I think you will want the pull those smaller domes give you all the time once you ride it. Even though I hate nitrous (personal opinion) if you want that sudden shock and awe, get a Boondocker setup or something and squeeze it when you drag, don't when you aren't. But if it was me and I wanted even more (even though I hate nitrous) I would run 18's on race and spray it when racing. Just my $.02 The other thing, when I've started hanging around when some of the big boys of my area came to "play" it wouldn't have mattered how small a dome I was running. When the stroked Cubs on alky come to play, you might as well pack up and go home. Knife to a gun fight? The other option would be to just sandbag it and then stomp them if you've got the motor to do it??? Quote
