KaosBanshee44 Posted May 15, 2007 Report Posted May 15, 2007 I just got my TORS removal kit in the mail the other day. Exactly how hard is it to install? Is it something anybody can do? Quote
badassbanshee479 Posted May 15, 2007 Report Posted May 15, 2007 not bad at all! just follow the directions and you will be fine!! I have done many for my friends! pm me if ya have any problems Quote
KaosBanshee44 Posted May 15, 2007 Author Report Posted May 15, 2007 Cool thanks, i just looked at it to me there's not that many parts to it so it don't look that bad. I'll let ya know if i have problems i'm gonna work on it today. Quote
dajogejr Posted May 15, 2007 Report Posted May 15, 2007 Not to sound like a total smart ass, but whoever you ordered the kit from should've supplied you with instructions. I've personally used the Vitos kit and the Motion pro kit, and they both come with instructions. Do a search for TORS removal....I'm 100% certain there are dozens of threads on it... Chase@miamiatv even has pictures on what to unplug... Quote
badassbanshee479 Posted May 15, 2007 Report Posted May 15, 2007 just make sure you drill and tap the carb in the right spot, and make sure you file down the boss so that the idle screw lifts the slide when ya screw it in. you will see what I am talkin about when ya start workin on it. Quote
KaosBanshee44 Posted May 15, 2007 Author Report Posted May 15, 2007 Yeah i got it from Motion Pro and seen the intructions. I was just wanting to know how hard it was to install. Quote
KaosBanshee44 Posted May 17, 2007 Author Report Posted May 17, 2007 I started putting my kit on yesterday. I got all the plastics off, gas tank off, throttle assembly all off. I'm gonna finish it up today but.......is it hard adjusting the cable when i get the new one on? Quote
badassbanshee479 Posted May 17, 2007 Report Posted May 17, 2007 not really, just make sure the carb slides are both moving at the same time. Little trick I learned was, put it all together, push the throttle till one of the carb slides is flush with the top of the carb and hold the throttle there, then adjust the other carb till it is flush like the first one and you should be real close. Tighten the nut on the carb cap, install your filters and tear it up! Quote
KaosBanshee44 Posted May 17, 2007 Author Report Posted May 17, 2007 Sweet, so putting this on isn't going to mess my idle up on my bike? I know the stock TORS system had two screws you can adjust and it would set the idle can you still adjust it with the removal kit? Quote
badassbanshee479 Posted May 17, 2007 Report Posted May 17, 2007 yeah, you adjust the idle with the screws that you thread into the hole that you drill and tap. Quote
KaosBanshee44 Posted May 17, 2007 Author Report Posted May 17, 2007 Why do they make you drill and tap it yourself? I guess i have to go buy that tool today too.....So you drill and tap exactly what? Quote
badassbanshee479 Posted May 17, 2007 Report Posted May 17, 2007 if you bought the removal kit, it should have come with the drill bit, tap, cable, two carb caps and the idle screws. what all did you get and where did you get it. The instructions should explain where you have to drill and tap Quote
badassbanshee479 Posted May 17, 2007 Report Posted May 17, 2007 try this. http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?...ors+removal+kit Quote
