CRAZY-SHEE! Posted May 3, 2007 Report Posted May 3, 2007 bummer... u might have shorted out your coil or your stator. id replace the coil first( cheaper) if it doesnt work, buy a nice ricky stator stator. Quote
blowit Posted May 3, 2007 Report Posted May 3, 2007 bummer... u might have shorted out your coil or your stator. id replace the coil first( cheaper) if it doesnt work, buy a nice ricky stator stator. I would not buy a thing just yet. Rain would not cause component failures in this manor. Even if, somehow rain got to the coil, It may or may not even short to an alternate ground. Rain water is NOT much of a conductor. I would dry things out and look at the handle bar switches and such. Sounds like a pretty basic problem. Brandon Quote
Bansh-eman Posted May 3, 2007 Report Posted May 3, 2007 also with most electronic if they get wet... as long as you do short them out by running them... they can dry out and be fine... your cdi is covered your stator is covered, your coil is pretty much covered. so at the most you go very minimal water on something... id say you got problem else where and it just so happens that its after being outside in the rain... jury Posted May 3, 2007 Author Report Posted May 3, 2007 alright.. well i got my coil off to check it, i dont have my clymer with me so am i testing it the right way?......from the leads where the black and orange wires plug in to the ground where it bolts tot he frame should equal some sort of resistance right?? thats how i tested it and got nothing, hopefully thats the prob.
