96_banshee_96 Posted May 3, 2007 Report Posted May 3, 2007 Ok im confused as to how many c rings im supose to have that go in the groves in the cases. The clymer manual only showed one on the bottom of the case on the right side of the crank and it should be placed in the inner grove farthest to the left and the other grove to the right of it is where the crank seal pops in correct?. Then there is a grove on the top case on the same right side of the crank is there supose to be a c ring there to? Also for the part of the tranny that the clutch goes on there are c rings and one should go on the bottom and the other on top correct? Quote
J-Madd Posted May 4, 2007 Report Posted May 4, 2007 I'm not sure I understand your question completely, but I'll try to answer part of it. I think you can put the c-rings in the top OR bottom groove. If you put the ring in one groove, you can turn the it until until it rotates into the other groove. The top and bottom grooves become connected when you match the case halves up. Quote
Bansh-eman Posted May 4, 2007 Report Posted May 4, 2007 you should have two clips... one goes on the clutch side crank one goes on the tranny... put it so it sits one each half of the cases... Quote
96_banshee_96 Posted May 4, 2007 Author Report Posted May 4, 2007 you should have two clips... one goes on the clutch side crank one goes on the tranny... put it so it sits one each half of the cases... Yes that was the answer I was looking for. For the Clutch side there is one in the bottom grove and one in the top so is that correct. Also does it matter what direction I place the one on the clutch side crank when I slide it up so it meets half and half with the top case? Should I make it face toward the tranny side or the cylinder side. I have a total of 3 C rings all together. Thanks For the help fellas  Quote
Bansh-eman Posted May 4, 2007 Report Posted May 4, 2007 it doesnt matter what side its on... you only use one per groove... its to keep them from shifting... front or back makes no differance... just try and put them where they top top and bottom of the cases... Quote
96_banshee_96 Posted May 4, 2007 Author Report Posted May 4, 2007 Ok I will do that then. I dont know where the extra C ring came from. I have a total of 3 all the same size  Quote
Bansh-eman Posted May 4, 2007 Report Posted May 4, 2007 if i recall theres only 2... but its been over a year scence the last time i rebuilt my motor... and im not about to go down stairs to the garage to refferance the clymers... if you got tree groove then im sure you can figure it out Quote
