MILO Posted April 5, 2007 Report Posted April 5, 2007 i've gotten in the habit of carrying tools with me when we go riding. the problem is finding a bag or something to put them in that will last and fit easily somewhere on the shee. i had a little backpack strapped to my grab bar, but it doesn't last long in the water/mud and riding conditions. what do you all carry along, and how do you store it on your shee... i usually carry: tire plugs and small hand pump extra plugs and plug wrench 9" & 6" channel locks the reversible flat/philips screw driver(stock tool kit) 8" crescent wrench tusk t handle socket set electrical tape & knife misc. mm wrenches(stock tool kit) and yes, i've used everything in there at one time or another. maybe not on my shee, but it was great to have along to fix something for myself or a buddy. MILO Posted April 6, 2007 Author Report Posted April 6, 2007 thanks for the input guys. i considered the back pack too, but i don't think it would work to well with the chest protector on, which i'm not leaving behind. i'll see what i can come up with. Quote
Meat Posted April 6, 2007 Report Posted April 6, 2007 I ride with a camelback that has a bunch of pockets. Works great. I carry alot too. wire ties and tire plugin kit are always along. i got a pair of extra plugs. electrical tap. ratchet and buncha metric sockets and a set of metric allens. I also carry that two part expoy metal patch stuff. my boy used to ride a little KX60 for awhile and one day he layed it over and put a hole in the water pump cover. We were about 6 miles from home. Everytime you kicked the motor over, it would pump antifreeze out the cover. I mcgiver'd it. took a quarter and some of that ,expoxy and patched the hole. filled up the radiator with some stream water and got home no problem. the patch is still on. never leaked once. Its handy to have if you have the room to carry it. Master link are nice to have along too. I threw a chain on a quadracer and somehow lost the masterlink. I was 5 miles from home, all by myself and my chain was fucked. i tried using pieces of wire, but nothin worked. I walked home in the dark that day. I learned my lesson and i have a spare masterlink with me. Quote
