milo_32000 Posted April 2, 2007 Report Posted April 2, 2007 If i leave my pet cock in the on reserve position it cranks first kick, if in the run position it takes a 8 or 10 kicks to crank, What gives ? Is there a filter in the pet cock ? I have never taken it apart. Thanks for the help ! Milo_32000 Quote

Screaming Yellow Zonker Posted April 2, 2007 Report Posted April 2, 2007 I ended up pulling the in-tank filters off and put an inline filter on. that way I can see when it need changing. Quote
4strokessuck Posted April 2, 2007 Report Posted April 2, 2007 Great info about the screens. I gotta check mine. Also, you have to remember fuel evaporates fast. When turning off the fuel, the fuel in the carbs can evaporate. That is why it takes longer to start up because you have to "kick" your fuel back into the carbs and into the cylinders to start. On the flip side, turning off the fuel only allows a small amout of fuel to evaporate in the bowls. Allowing the bowls to constantly top off by leaving the fuel on over time will allow mix oil and fuel additives that don't evaporate to collect in the carbs. I don't mind a few extra kicks to start my Shee for clean carbs. Good luck. Quote
