rjbestracing Posted March 29, 2007 Report Posted March 29, 2007 have a 2001 banshee that i just bought, bike has fmfs, airbox is completly removed and i am running kehin aftermarket carbs with pod filters, bike also has cool head dont kno the size of domes bike also came with a dyna computer, i (believe) or was told that the bike has 0.20 over weisico pistons, bike has a 16t front sprocket, and the bike was clocked at top end speed of 81 mph, bike also has boost bottle and timing work done to it (advance) now does this seem like the top speed this bike should be getting with all this work done to it? now the million dollar question is why is it blowing gaskets only on one side? note the bike was purchased at a local track and was running great Quote
FireHead Posted March 29, 2007 Report Posted March 29, 2007 now the million dollar question is why is it blowing gaskets only on one side?note the bike was purchased at a local track and was running great Why are you using a gasket with a coolhead? Quote
rjbestracing Posted March 29, 2007 Author Report Posted March 29, 2007 sorry buddy, you kno wat i mean o rings Quote
FireHead Posted March 29, 2007 Report Posted March 29, 2007 sorry buddy, you kno wat i mean o rings I didn't know what you were talking about. Some of the people around here are fully capable of trying to run a coolhead with a paper gasket. You're not selaing for one of four reasons. 1.)The sealing surface are not true and parallel. 2.)You are pinching the o-rings in one way or another when you install the head. 3.)Cylinder head stud torque is incorrect. 4.)The o-ring grooves are messed up. Quote
rjbestracing Posted March 29, 2007 Author Report Posted March 29, 2007 does the top speed match up to what the bike has in upgrades Quote

FireHead Posted March 29, 2007 Report Posted March 29, 2007 ok i understand what ur saying but the thing is that its only blowing that one brown o ring the is on the left looking at the bike from the front [grill] how many lbs should the head bolts be torqued at ? Torque should be the same as on an OEM head a 20 ft/lbs. Even if you are only blowing only the one o-ring all of the things I mentioned earleir could still be true. Quote
