Snopczynski Posted March 24, 2007 Report Posted March 24, 2007 Well its not ever real good to mix two different manufacturers oils. It can cause premature heat break down, varnishing, and sludging in an engine. With spending big bucks on a new tranny or clutch in mind, I wouldn't do it. Quote
350BANSHEE350 Posted March 25, 2007 Report Posted March 25, 2007 well what about lucas heavy duty oil stabilizer? it says it blends with other automotiv lubrcant even ATF, mineral oil and synthetic oil your supposed to put 200ml in with the other oil you use so it would be 1.3 litres of yamalube4 and 200ml of the lucas stuffed Quote
ojcool Posted March 25, 2007 Report Posted March 25, 2007 No, technically there is no reason you cannot mix oil..... But don't expect to mix conventional oil and synthetic and get the same protection... You won't. Or weights of oil.. But they will all mix. But if you mix a quart of 10/30 and a quart of 10/40 you will affect the viscosity. Quote
