( could be a littke cheaper too) http://dtdyno.com/shop/ATV/banshee/ also- "Head comes with standard 22cc pump gas domes." so does the amount of ccs on the head effect which type of gas u can put in? which would i use for pimeum pump gas? sry fer all teh n00b quesions just want new cylinders + pistons in big bore for =) Edited March 20, 2007 by chris1992 Quote
Bansh-eman Posted March 20, 2007 Report Posted March 20, 2007 if you plan on running a stock crank... you can get some vrey nice gains out of your stok cylinders and not spend a ton on a big bore cheeta... unless your doing mostly drag racing id say your looking at the wrong motor... how ever the power vavles do help with the lower end that you miss on cubs... dont get so set on a big bore kit just to gain performance... your stock jugs can make some HUGE power with the right setup and port for much less then one of those kits... now to answer your other question... yes the size of your domes is primarily what will determine wht gas you need to run... the size of your domes increases or decreases your static compression and thats how you know what type of fuel to run... timing also make a small determination as well.. chris1992 Posted March 20, 2007 Author Report Posted March 20, 2007 so what cc head for primeum pump gas and im not sure im getting what ur saying.. are u sayng i should just bore out my stock cylinders and make them into the big bore kit? Quote
Bansh-eman Posted March 20, 2007 Report Posted March 20, 2007 to know for sure 100% you would have to do a compression test but normally at sea level you can run 20-22cc domes on get away with premium... no im not saying anythign about a big bore kit... drop big bore kit from your head... theres ways you can get some huge power out of your stock cylinders... get a good port job... that has nothing to do with your bore size. its your transfers intakes and exhaust ports.... get a head with the right domes..pistons ,crank, reeds, intake, carbs, pipes, cdi, coil.... you dont have to go big bore to get some major gains Quote
chris1992 Posted March 20, 2007 Author Report Posted March 20, 2007 (edited) ive alredy done all the carb and pipe work and ive got bvforce 3's on there. ive done all the bolt on stuff. now i would lke to get more power. and i dont see porting getting the same as big bore and porting. cause i plan to start racing this thing but when i race my friends draggers they leave me in the dust (obviously) so i need another source of power which would be... porting and big bore. ( DO NOT want to replace crank. waaaaa to difficult.. replaced the crank seals myself once, and twas enough for nme Edited March 20, 2007 by chris1992 Quote
Bansh-eman Posted March 20, 2007 Report Posted March 20, 2007 then porting and a stroker crank...get a lockup clutch and a dunable over ride...what kind of riding do you do? Quote
chris1992 Posted March 20, 2007 Author Report Posted March 20, 2007 (edited) about 50% trails and 50% drag we have this 3/4 mile ling totally flat dirt road that forms into an uphill drag and we drag up and down it all the time just for laughs but i can take non modified quads 75% of the time Edited March 20, 2007 by chris1992 Quote
Bansh-eman Posted March 20, 2007 Report Posted March 20, 2007 (edited) look into a dune/play port... i wouldnt go full drag becasue you said you ride trails... get a good port job and a 4mil crank in there with a lockup and you got a totally differant bike... the lockups are kinda tuff to swwitch gears on so id look at getting a duneable override so you can make full throttle shifts without your clutch keep in mind your probly going to need a longer swinger too...along with it a chain and new sprokets never reuse ol sprokets on new chains it wears them out faster.. it adds up very fast Edited March 20, 2007 by Bansh-eman Quote
chris1992 Posted March 20, 2007 Author Report Posted March 20, 2007 i got the lockup and swinger already on my list... but see i REALLY REALLY with a passsion do not want to replace that crank. thats why i said either crank or big bore.. big bore.. same power, less price less work.. perfect. Quote
Bansh-eman Posted March 20, 2007 Report Posted March 20, 2007 well to be honest it wont be less and it might actually cost you more to go BB... depends on what you get and where you go... you can put a crank in your motor your self if your a little bit mechanically inclined... trust me its not nearly as hard as you think it would be... get a clymer and it walks you step by step on how to do it... and you always got bhq if you still dont understand... click the bigred linkin my sig... he took picts of how to take apart a motor... it would be well worth your time to do the crank and not bb... chris1992 Posted March 20, 2007 Author Report Posted March 20, 2007 (edited) i know i replaced the cr5ank seals myself once and that was bad enogh. i dont wanna go through that again.. thx for the help man btw whats the best crank / bb stuff they have out there? trinity? weisco?
