Drag porting, stock carbs and T5 pipes

Bigger carbs and Shearer, CPI or other high rev top end pipes would wake that bike right up....

I agree with Dave on this one. I don't have a drag port, but I did notice a huge difference when I went to Shearers. The +7 swinger I could see being a prob for traction on dirt. Too long. If you want to improve in the dragging, a higher reving pipe is what you need. Traction is also gonna play a factor here.

I am running stock carbs, and Dave has told me a few times to get some bigger ones also. I'm gonna ask him to let me borrow some cash to buy some LOL :yelrotflmao:

My buddy had a turbo banshee making 140 HP on stock carbs...sure it can be done.

But, bigger carbs are just easier....

bad... The check is in the mail, now hold your breath....LOL...

You could make over 100HP on stock carbs, you could also do it much easier on bigger carbs.

ON a turbo bike, many actually prefer the stock carbs.

However, this is no turbo bike....

Compliment the bike, compliment the motor...get bigger carbs and better pipes suited for drag racing....

I did say stock looking carbs, not stock carbs. I am not sure if you could make over 100hp still using stock carbs.

Dave, I agree with you 100%. I am not very familiar with turbo charging two stroke engines with carbs. In fact, I think I have only ever seen one Banshee like that over on Planet Sand. I want to read about it now.............................. :banghead:

D'oh....looks like I need to learn to read....

I'm gonna ask ojcool if he's done with his hooked on phonics, volume 2 yet....maybe I could borrow them...

Sorry...had to...:)

I think his name is whitey on here, he's been playing with an FI turbo....pretty cool project, not sure if he's done yet.

Interestingly enough, I sort of crawled up ojcool's ass again in a recent thread about octane boosters and he didn't do anything near what he did in the dyno thread. Maybe we broke him?

There was a Banshee over on Planet Sand with a green frame and white plastics that had a turbo on it. That's the only one I've seen pictures of. I think I may remember a thread here about Whitey's project.

The Banshee fuel injection thing is sort of interesting to me. I haven't found toom any placed to read about it. It seems like one of the mechanical MRD units pops up on eBay from time to time. I would really like to see a bike running with one of those units. If it looked good that may be another project I will have to put in the que.

Hey, you guys went off topic. I tried the a 14/42 on my bike and now theres a different problem. It was boggin a bit in the middle of the power band and then at high rpms it would quit on me. I tried rejeting bigger and it just made my plug way to rich, what do you guys think???

Sorry to get off topic. I criticize some for doing it...yet find myself doing just that quite often.

It's firehead's fault....LOL.

The Main jet wont' effect the midrange as much as your needle. Try different clip positions.

You say it's boggy....sounds rich. Try moving the needle one clip towards the blunt end to lean it.

Also...make sure your carbs are in sync as well.
