If you don't have compelling reason to have to save this flywheel, then just got at it with a 3 jaw gear puller. You don't need an expensive puller, Harbor Freight quality will do. Or you can generally rent them from your local Napa (they may even let you borrow it for free if you bring you bike down to the store and pull the flywheel in their parking lot.

Another option would be to weld something to the flywheel to allow you to pull it off. That solution is a little more equipment intensive though.

Well i charged up the good ol impact. And i found a brand new puller. Got in on all the way. And the impact basically ripped the puller from teh flywheel. I am intending on saving the flywheel. My best bet would probably just take it to a welder and have them take a wack at it

Out of curiousity, why are you planning on saving the flywheel? If you re-install the thing you will just a to repeat all the fun you are having right now, all over again.

If i could dig up an extra 100 for a flywheel plus to get it lightened i would but i dont have the money.

I wasnt expecting it to be this hard. The last time i did it, it pretty much slid right off with the help of some pb.

Someone on here ought to be able to hook you up with a flywheel for less than $100 already lightened. If it came down to it, I would probably be willing to lighten yours for free if you got it in my hands when I was adjusting mine for my triple.

I just had the same problem while adding a stator... I used a 3 way puller and a hand torch. Heat the shaft untill you see it looking like its burning and use the gear puller and a hammer. Tighten the gear puller tight and wack the corners of the fly wheel with the hammer, the hammer impact with the pulling force with the heat will pop it free. I bought a new fly wheel off ebay for 45.00 and lightened it for 50.00.

Oh becareful with the heat it could (not likely) burn your stator. I replaced that too w/ timing advance all in 1.

When adding the flywheel put anti-sieze(for spark plugs) on the shaft and it won't stick again.

YOU NEED A NEW FLYWHEEL!
