snazman Posted March 6, 2007 Report Posted March 6, 2007 Hey guys I just installed some v force 3's and rode it for the first time over the weekend. I checked the plugs and they look pretty good. But it doesn't feel quite as crisp in the mid range as it did before. Like there is a flat spot. You can even here it bog under acceleration. I'm thinking that I need to lean the needle out one clip. What do you guys think? The other mods on my bike are t-5s, noss head with 18cc domes k and n with no air box lid, and timing advanced 4 deg. Jetting is 300 main, 27.5 pilot, and Alba needle on 4th clip. Thanks for the help. Quote
dajogejr Posted March 6, 2007 Report Posted March 6, 2007 That is exactly what you probably will have to do. Aftermarket reeds get you more fuel and in air the midrange, some times, not always....you have to lean out the needle one clip, or...one clip towards the blunt end. After 1/8 throttle you're off the pilot/air screw, and you're not on the main fully until 3/4 throttle. I think you hit the nail right on the head. Quote
Banchetta Posted March 7, 2007 Report Posted March 7, 2007 Try lowering the needle one clip....I'd also try the stock needle and decide which is better....some aftermarket needles aren't that great w/ certain setups. Quote
