FireHead Posted March 4, 2007 Report Posted March 4, 2007 yes you can but get ready for the apocalypse... ok maybe not but you can change one You have to be careful once you change the rod, as they tend to try to jump off the work bench and run up your pant leg. Quote
i_bleed_blue Posted March 4, 2007 Author Report Posted March 4, 2007 is there any weight difference in the aftermarket rods as far as weight that might throw the motor out of balance? Quote
FireHead Posted March 5, 2007 Report Posted March 5, 2007 is there any weight difference in the aftermarket rods as far as weight that might throw the motor out of balance? Probably, but because you have a flat plane crankshaft and aylinders that fire 180 degrees from each other, you do not need to balance the crankshaft with a bob weight mass. In other words, the weight of the rod and piston do not matter. If given the chance one might like to have parts (rods and pistons) that weighed about the same. Quote
