Mullet Man
EDIT: oops, topic should say a-arm and shock issue :shoothead: figured it would just be easier to start a new one with pics at the beginning pictures for this thread here... http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=73475 http://i11.tinypic.com/2ic1x76.jpg http://i15.tinypic.com/482qez7.jpg http://i11.tinypic.com/303k13n.jpg http://i15.tinypic.com/2d8jk00.jpg http://i10.tinypic.com/2w51qb8.jpg http://i5.tinypic.com/4bp1hn9.jpg http://i17.tinypic.com/3150uc9.jpg Edited March 2, 2007 by Mullet Man
Trick2stroke
I can't really see what your problem is. Take pics with the spindles strait out with the ball joint held up to them so we can see the problem with getting them to mount, again I can't tell much from those pics. Mabye it's just me. FireHead
Better pictures of the exact problem would help. Past that, I think you have the lower a-arms switched on the wrong sides.
Bairdy13
Hey firehead, I tried switching the 2 lower arms before as I though that might be it also but the shocks wouldnt fit into the top mounts. These are +2+1 arms so they would have to sit forward like that. hmmm. When I find out what the OEM caster figure is I'll set it back up and see if I have the same problem with the rods. yamaha04
you have the arms on the right way. but are you trying to put the tie rod ends in wrong the bolt goes through up from the bottom when putting into the spindle.

Ahha, I didn't see that. If that doesn't work than you may want to check and see if those lower arms are correct for a Banshee. Those are the most radically angled forward arms that I have seen for a Banshee if they are correct.

The lower heim CL is nearly even with the forward lower bushing on his, mine is more centered. Maybe a 2+2 design?
yamaha04
yeah i dont think my lowers are that much forwardi just tryed looking at some of my pics but cant really get the right angle to see and my shee is at my grandparents. i dont know what to tell ya try putting the tie rods on the right way and take some more pics
Bairdy13
:yelrotflmao: Well its all starting to look good (touch wood) I have it all back together again. the camber is alomst correct, the caster is the same on both sides though prob a long way off OEM, tie rods connected but not quit finnished and it is already looking better. with the wheels off the ground the tie rods still hit the bottom arm mount when trying to turn. My biggest problem now is getting the caster right, what has everyone else got theres set up to. Hopefully this will sort out the other problems.
Bairdy13
I'm not having any more problems with the T.R ends (thanx to the 4inch) though the left rod slightly hits the upper arm when almost at full lock, I think the correct caster should fix this. Yes the T.R ends are the right way.

The sttering arm will cross the plane of the lower a-arm.

Bairdy13
Yep it is a pain in the arse alright but if it all works it will be worth it. Yam04 what shocks were u useing? Firehead, I only ordered +2+1, I hope that is what they sent!!! Also how exactly to you measure your caster? I could be doing something wrong they way I have been doing it. I do mostly trail so I will set it up to 0 if i can do it with out the top arm hitting the shock.
