What Mod next?

What do you guys think my next mod should be? My current mods are in sig. I got about $250 to spend. I know I need the carbs but don't have enough for them. I was thinking a Noss head or VF3's.

I thought an agressive dune port would perform well with the Shearers.

for gain right now, I'd go with some vforce reeds

 

or you could probably buy reeds and a coolhead if you go the used route, or carbs for that matter.

 

your head has been milled, so a coolhead won't really buy you much, except for flexibility going forward

That is pretty cheap for some reeds, sounds too cheap. I have someone local that put some VF3' a couple of months ago and hasn't really used his bike. He wants $180 and I offered him $160. Waiting for him to reply. My head was milled but did not have much cut off at all, compression is at 110 at 3,000 ft elevation. I think like 15 thousandths was cut off.

 

Then I'm think about upping the comp to like 160.

That compression is a bit low........maybe. I would spring for a PD or Noss head. Good investment if you are planning on keeping the bike and aren't doing the machine work yourself. :thumbsup:

A Noss head with some 19cc domes cut by Passion, VF3's, or suspension (YFZ shocks)? :: :: ::

I bet if you look around you could find some good used 33-35mm carbs for $200. Get some foam pods to go with them for now like $8 ea. Maybe get some used UPP (stock style) 34mm manifolds for $40-50 or new for $80. It may be a streatch but possibly do-able if you look around, do some fleebay bidding, put a WTB add in the parts forum.
