dajogejr Posted February 14, 2007 Report Posted February 14, 2007 difficulty typing complete sentances Or spelling them for that matter.... Stu, I think you need some medical help or medication. You get awfully testy anytime someone takes a quick shot at you, jokingly and in fun, and right away get defensive. We're just playing around with you and making light of what you said. Yeah, we know what you meant, and we know you misspelled the word... You typed me in a PM that you're a Christian, it's against your nature to hold a grudge, etc. RELAX...we're just poking fun at your expense, no need to jump off the handle... And...once again, the point. You came here asking for advice, the majority of the people here advised you it's a good idea to get it welded, stock, near stock or not, and you're just gonna let it ride anyways....under the assumption that it won't do any "real damage"... You're a self proclaimed car guy, Mustangs If I remember. Have you had a crank fail on you in a car? Was it pretty? I'm not trying to be a smart ass, I'm trying to a. make light of the situation and b. point out why and what you came here for, but are ignoring what most of us have recommended. It's obviously always your choice and money no matter what, but I'm confused why you'd come to ask advice here, get pretty consistent advice on what to do, and then just ignore it anyways. Quote
werner Posted February 14, 2007 Report Posted February 14, 2007 i say if you dont want to split the cases then dont. learn the hard way. then well see how much confidence you have in the guy when your buying new components. :shoothead: like said before, good insurance, ive seen alot less seperate a crank. :ninja: Quote
badassbanshee479 Posted February 14, 2007 Report Posted February 14, 2007 what happens when the crank seperates and the pistons come out of phase? buddys bike did this and it detonated to the point that it burned a hole in the piston, f'ed the head up and trashed the cylinder. this was on an 06 with just pipes. But I think you should listen to your buddy and not get it done. let me know when ya need a top end I have all kinds of spare parts lying around. Quote
FireHead Posted February 14, 2007 Report Posted February 14, 2007 Working pretty hard to make that little funny aren't you? You know comedy isn't for everyone. Don't feel like you HAVE to be funny. Cause, just between you and me, your not really pulling it off. Hey, don't be down on yourself, don't you beat yourself up!!! The problem isn't you, your just not being challenged. OK, so your not the greatest comedian. So what, there are a million other things you can be good at. You have to keep your chin up and keep searching. Maybe cob nobbling is your calling. I mean, you have to play on your strengths. Lets list them: Easily amused difficulty typing complete sentances unhealthy preoccupation with men Lets take your "weakness" of always turing everything into a gay reference, and turn it into a "strength". With the cob nobbling you will have the opportunity every day to be completely immersed in the gay lifestyle, and most guys will let you call them Brian!!! You will fufull all three of your natural "strengths" while making a good living!!!! Imagine finally loving your job!!! Thats what you have to do, find something you love, and do it for a living. Still have reservations? Don't sell yourself short, you got what it takes to do anything you want. Bro, the way you read through a post, found the weakness, and immedatly pounced on it. THAT is a talent in itself. You have a real gift for finding peoples weaknesses. Like you saw where I misspelled "brian" as "brain", you immedatly picked it out of tons of other complecated words, isolated it, and clearly showed all the readers that I misspelled a word. Brilliant. I mean thats such fresh and origanal thinking. You my friend are a trend setter. Apparently you are to a fan of the quality of comedy that I am capable of when I am stuck in an airport late at night. That certainly was alot to read, I am really not sure that I warrant that much effort on your part. Have you considered counseling or possibly cutting back on your drug intake? Either way, you seem to be dealing with some sexual insecurity, so I will leave you to deal with that. On the topic of the crankshaft at hand, my simple point is that all of my crankshafts are welded and I certainly beleive in the practice. I just don't feel it's something to go tearing a motor apart for unless you're making alot of power. I would have it done when you are in your motor doing something else. Quote
ojcool Posted February 15, 2007 Author Report Posted February 15, 2007 if you think the webs seperating can`t cause catastrophic failure to your cases. then don`t get the pins welded.ever see how close the webs ride to the case when a crank is true?65 bucks is money well spent if you have the motor apart.i have taken stockers apart with seperated cranks.it `s not pretty. I was just reciting what I was told by the crank guy. I have not seen inside. Of course I will get the crank welded if I have access to if for some reason. I was just wondering if I should go through the trouble to split them just to do that. Apparently everyone here is too sensitive for my brand of humor. Sorry didn't mean to offend everyone with my witty retort to fireheads post. I thought he wanted to have a little fun poking at each other. I guess I was wrong. I just dont' take people screwing with me personally, so I assuem everyone else is the same way. I will try not to make fun of anyone anymore. I will play my games on another forum. Please fight the urge to post repsonses to this like: I have a sense of humor blah blah, and it's cool if you want to screw around blah blah (heres the part I hate) .....BUT... Insert any version of an explaination of why you overreacted and a definition of how it was MY fault. Also please refrian from posting examples of how I contradict myself ect. I well aware of the fact that I'm a hypocrite. Once again, sorry to offend. Quote

I recited what the crank guy told me, NOT what I thought. Bro, you are famous for putting words in my mouth. But I forgive you, because I don't think you do it intentionally. If I am a self proclaimed "car guy" than you are a self proclaimed "quad guy". Either way, since we're both proclaiming things, I'm going to go ahead and proclaim that I am horribly misunderstood, but I must bring some satifaction to the people who tell me off regularly, and for that, I suppose I have a place in the world. If you think I'm doing a "poor me" routine, your right. Quote
