nicktoney Posted February 7, 2007 Report Posted February 7, 2007 i was just wondering... maybe someone rigged up seomthing? its kinda akward to have to pull the seat off, kick the bike til warm, then push both chokes back down and go... i know most of you cant get your hands in to shut off the chokes without getting burned... you know this isnt the issue with stock carbs, they have one choke... but what about us with aftermarket? is there a cool trick cable or something anyone has rigged up? it'd have to be a pushpull job im sure... or should i just quit being so damn lazy and do it the long way? DUB Posted February 7, 2007 Report Posted February 7, 2007 I just reach in from the side and turn them on and off Quote
sheefreak Posted February 7, 2007 Report Posted February 7, 2007 One of the headaches of going fast. Well worth it IMO. Quote
FireHead Posted February 7, 2007 Report Posted February 7, 2007 (edited) I can ususally just pull the choke on one of the carbs and she will fire right up. If it's that big of problem for you then maybe you can find a remote location choke kit for your carbs. I think Mikuni makes them atleast. Edited February 7, 2007 by FireHead Quote
nicktoney Posted February 7, 2007 Author Report Posted February 7, 2007 meh... taking the seat off is no big deal... ill waste my money elsewhere instead of a remote setup Quote
Chase_Man Posted February 7, 2007 Report Posted February 7, 2007 When my carbs came in they had a lever that runs the left carb so i guess that i lucked out no seat removal here Quote
dajogejr Posted February 7, 2007 Report Posted February 7, 2007 I'll use mine to start the bike dead cold, maybe leave the choke on for a minute or so at most. Nothing is that hot to burn me by then. Reach under the seat, push the knob down...not that big of a deal. When I choke a dead cold bike, after a few seconds, I still blip the throttle every 4 to 5 seconds slightly to warm it up quicker and clean it out, pretty much as soon as it'll idle without touching the throttle, I'll click 'em off and keep blipping the throttle for another minute or so, depending on how warm it is out. Obviously, in very cold temps...I let mine warm up quite a few more minutes while blipping....until I can feel the top of the head getting warm at least. Quote
rebelbanshee2 Posted February 7, 2007 Report Posted February 7, 2007 you only need to pull one choke. Quote
gipperz Posted February 8, 2007 Report Posted February 8, 2007 you only need to pull one choke. Thats what I do unless its really cold out then I'll choke both. Quote
phx450 Posted February 8, 2007 Report Posted February 8, 2007 Only pull one choke here as well. If not use gloves. Quote
