3 Posted January 29, 2007 Report Posted January 29, 2007 Is a 16.5 inchs long Elka shock will be to long for a +2+1 a-arms set? Iam getting a bit confuse with all the different lenght of shock. I do know that the stock length is about 14.75 ctc, but i never use +2+1 a-arm before. thanks for your help Quote
Bansh-eman Posted January 29, 2007 Report Posted January 29, 2007 if the arms are +2 +1 that means they are extended 2 inch out and 1 inch forward... the shock mounts should be in the same spot... unless they are long travel arms normal shocks mounts up on them but need to be revalved to makeup for the distribution of weight now on your shocks Quote
3 Posted January 29, 2007 Author Report Posted January 29, 2007 Ok with all that said, a +2 a-arms will accept a +2 shocks, +2 over stock shock length i mean. So if i do the math again those 16.5 shock are a pretty good fit for standard travel +2 +1 arms, am i right? Thank for the help and man everytimes i read one of your post it take me more time because of those bouncing ... its just not good at work :yelrotflmao: Quote
Bansh-eman Posted January 29, 2007 Report Posted January 29, 2007 umm you iknow man im not sure if the long travle shocks will fit right on standard travel arms... it would depend if anything is in the way of the upper and lower mounts to hit when the arms move up and down... casue long travel and standard travel are setup differant Quote
3 Posted January 30, 2007 Author Report Posted January 30, 2007 Ya i know what you mean but 16 inchs is not a long travel shock right??? Quote
Bansh-eman Posted January 30, 2007 Report Posted January 30, 2007 yea if its longer then the stock length then its long travel...they dont really offer differant lengths just standard and long travel... Quote
yamaha04 Posted January 30, 2007 Report Posted January 30, 2007 what kinda of a arms do you have. im getting some new arms and they are +2+1 but they ise a stock LENGHT shock. so i would figure out what kind athey are then resurch them to see what size shock they take Quote
3 Posted January 30, 2007 Author Report Posted January 30, 2007 Alright, but whats going on with the YFZ shocks, they measure 15.75 and that doesnt fall in the LT category when you put them on a banshee. I dont want to be the smart ass, but i think the line is tine with that subject. Quote

[/quote when you put yfz shocks on a banshee it litf the front end abit so there for makeing it have more travel what you need to do is research what size shock your a arms take just because they are +2+1 does'nt mean they take a 2 inch longer shock them stock. the +2 is width and the +1 is the tires moveone inch forward so Quote
3 Posted January 30, 2007 Author Report Posted January 30, 2007 Well i guess that stop the debate because there is no general answer to it. I think i will probably buy the shocks anyways and start from there. Thanks guys Quote
