jmkapala Posted January 24, 2007 Report Posted January 24, 2007 ok, when i got this bike in a trade, I was told it was an 87 frame w/ an 02 motor. now that i am looking for a stator, i need to know what it is. I know that there are 2 different stator plugs...(96 up and 96 down...right?). So, with these pics, can anyone help me narrow down what i have or is there another way to do so..... any help is greatly appreciated. sorry about the picture quality, steady hand is not my forte....lol Quote

dajogejr Posted January 24, 2007 Report Posted January 24, 2007 Any stator will work with any year, you'll just have to get crafty with splicing wires.... And by those plugs...either that is NOT an 02 motor, or they went through the trouble of using an older stator, older CDI...etc. Quote

The stator manufacturers and cdi manufacturers are different and wont work. Early models are mitsubishi cdi's, later models are denso. Quote
