The Bike has FMF Fatties, MX port job,bored out carbs, Cool head (pump gas) reeds, +4 timing. The pipes are in rough shape and I would like to replace them. To me the bike pulls like a raped ape! - It would smoke my 686 cammed and piped raptor. I'm wondering if the CPI 350 pipes would be a good choice? Hilarious Posted January 18, 2007 Report Share Posted January 18, 2007 From my experience, a set of CPIs will put out more power than the FMFs. Not sure how they would work on a MX port though. What kind of riding do you do? that will help determine the type/style of pipe. Mating a top end/drag style pipe to an MX port job might not be an impressive combo... From what I'm reading on this site it may be best for me to stick with the FMF pipes - I also understand that the pipe must somewhat match the port job for the combo to work properly. Yes the FMF Pipes will match up very well with an MX Woods style port. For your riding style and port job the CPIs would basicaly be to much pipe. Stick with the FMFs unless they are dented to the point that they are restricting exhaust preformance. If that is the case the Toomey T5s would be an ideal pipe for your riding/motor.
