geeunit310 Posted January 10, 2007 Report Posted January 10, 2007 I just bought a brand new banshee and it hasnt been broken in yet. Is it ok to use the motul synthetic oil right away? or should i just use the yamalube for the break-in period. I would appreciate the help. Quote
Hilarious Posted January 10, 2007 Report Posted January 10, 2007 There are mixed opinions on this. Some say synthetic is ok and some say that it is not ok for break-in. The yamalube has synthetic additives in it. I broke my new engine in on Castor 927 and it seems to be doing fine. So, I would go ahead and use what you have and take it easy. Do a couple of heat cycles and check everything then let her rip. Quote
dajogejr Posted January 10, 2007 Report Posted January 10, 2007 As long as it's not Crisco, you're fine. Use whatever oil you plan on using... However, if you have the factory tankful of gas in there, and it has Yamalube, it would probably be a good idea to drain the gas tank and put fresh gas mixed with Motul in. Probably not good to mix two different brands/types of two stroke oils...but, then again...I've done it in a pinch. Quote
CMAC Posted January 10, 2007 Report Posted January 10, 2007 Ive heard from some race buddies its fine, it just takes longer to break in on sinth. 2 or 4 strokes. Dont know how much truths to it. Quote
Animalman294 Posted January 11, 2007 Report Posted January 11, 2007 I don't know, I think I like that Crisco idea. Much cheaper.............. :yelrotflmao: Quote
