Infamous039 Posted December 26, 2006 Report Posted December 26, 2006 I justed installed a new clutch cable and lever. Now it seems that my clutch is not fully engaging when I release the clutch lever. I have adjusted it as much as I can at the lever, but it seems to still be to tight because of the new cable and aftermarket lever. My bike just screams when I release the clutch lever and hit the throttle, and it didnt do this with the stock setup I had before. I know you can go inside the clutch cover and adjust it but I dont know how. Can you guys give me some insight or post some pics of how to adjust it properly????? Thanks in Advance Quote
wesw Posted December 26, 2006 Report Posted December 26, 2006 remove teh cable off the arm by the cases, with teh clutch cover off and what not, have someone or yourself push the arm to wear the arrows line up on the case and the arm. then tighten the tension screw up till its tight with the arrows lined up. then lock the nut tight against the screw. then put the cable back on and adjust free play. Infamous039 Posted December 26, 2006 Author Report Posted December 26, 2006 where are the arrows located?????????? Is the tension screw the one on the middle ????????????? Quote
dajogejr Posted December 26, 2006 Report Posted December 26, 2006 Perfect advice by Wes. Get a clymers manual, this is all covered with pictures.... The one arrow is sationary on the case itself, the other is on the end of the arm for your clutch...they are directly below your fuel valve if you were looking down towards the ground, on the engine cases. The arm moves with the cable (This actually engages/disengages the clutch) and the mark on the case itself is stationary.... Quote
