Question for those with TDR reeds

Hey everyone..

 

Just got some TDR reeds for modified motors, I ported my stock cages removing some material just about everywhere and thinned out the middle bar, I see that these reeds are completely one peice with no slit down the center like stock. My question is would it be just as well to remove the center bar altogether or will it make them last longer by offering the reeds more support.. Also it says to use the stock back plates on the instructions.. do you guys that use TDR reeds use that metal stock back plate?Thanks for any info..

Ya, take the center peice out entirly, I used the stock stops, do a search on reed cage mod, someone posted a pic.
