Breaking up at full throttle

I've got an 01' banshee.it was running perfect and i let it sit for about three weeks.when i went to start it i had no spark, so i took it to the local shop.apparently water had entered my stator cover and rusted my stator out.at this point my mods where pro design cool head with 21cc domes, lrd exhaust complete, boyenson carbon reeds,.065 over bore,tors eliminator kit,uni pod filters,270 main jets, and pro design adjustable timing plate. i am at sea level and the temp. is almost always in between 70 and 90 degrees.while at the shop the mechanic broke my timing plate.they re-installed a new timing plate and i added a moose 250 watt stator. also, i upped the bore up to .085 ,had vforce 3 reeds installed .when i rode it for the first time it had a lack of power(kinda sluggish).pretty much no power band. i then called dynajet and they suggested i go with 340 jets. i made this change and it ran great for a couple of test rides then it died out. upon inspection i discovered that the pickup coil screws had worked themself loose and the generator busted it .i then replaced the pickup. when i rode it next it ran good up to 3/4 to wot, then it started to break up. turns out i had a float needle that was bad.i fixed this problem but the breakup still exists.when i checked the plugs they are fouled.i then went back to the 270 ,260,250,and 240 jets and still the same problem.it idols beautiful and revvs nice and smooth.i just don't understand how it ran so good one minute and runs like crap. it starts first kick every time.what gives?

stupid question, but did you change the plugs?

yes. i have changed the plugs every time i changed the jets to get an accurate reading.i am also running 93 octane mix 32/1 with castrol 30.

i called another shop and talked with there mechanic and told me 270 mains,+7,and br9es.still same problem.

 

it seems to want to run best at the +7 mark.i don't know exactly where i should be set at.

i may be wrong, but i would try it a +4.

what jets do you think i should run?

im in the ustate s.c. and i run 290 mains, 27.5 pilots, air screws 2 turns out, needle in the middle slot. try 290 mains and see where your at. also what is your compression reading?

fixed it. i adjusted my pickup coil gap,set my float heigth,and installed a 280 jet.plugs look perfect. she screaming again :beer:also set my timing@+4 thanks!!

make sure you cheak the plugs again at wot, just to be sure your not lean. glad to hear you got it running right!
