BansheeBlues Posted December 9, 2006 Report Posted December 9, 2006 Hi everyone! I REALLLY need some help here. I have tons of steam coming out of the right exhaust pipe. Idles great, no steam. Two minute ride and there it is. When you take the head off, the pistons are covered with radiator coolant. The large o-ring in the head looked to be melted off, but only on the right side. (bought three head gasket kits for a coolhead and kept replacing them, thinking that might of fixed the problem. ) I had Trinity IV cylinders on the Banshee at that time. I went back to the originals thinking maybe one was cracked?? Nope. Now, we just put in a new welded hotrod crank, newly bored cylinders with new Wiesco .030 pistons, Coolhead with new 21cc domes, 35mm Keihin Airstriker carbs, new seals, gaskets. o-rings (using yamalube where needed) and whatever else I can't remember at this point. I just fired up my quad after a months worth of work, lots of money and I have the same problem! Ever cry over a broken quad?? I just might :-( I can't take another weekend without riding. Please, if you have any ideas I would greatly appreciate hearing them. Thanks.... Quote
jbooker82 Posted December 9, 2006 Report Posted December 9, 2006 You shouldnt use any type of sealer with the orings on the head. Just use a little vasoline or petrolum jelly to hold the O rings in place. Quote
