Malfnet1 Posted November 25, 2006 Report Posted November 25, 2006 (edited) Ok, so last night when on my shee it felt like it was missing (I run an NGK B9ES) so I replaced the plugs and it really didn't seem to help. So A friend of mine to it out and he said that it sounded like I had bad piston slap on the right side. So off to the garage to run a compresson test and to my suprise I had 118-120lbs on both sides. So this made me feel a little bit better. Now the right side smokes more than the left and from looking at the plugs It appears to be running rich. My second thought was that my crank seal was bad and I was sucking in tranny fluid. I checked my fluid level and it is right on the mark and this is the same place it was late this summer to and I haven't added any. So I guessing that i am not sucking fluid in. So Now I am starting to think that the carbs are not in sync and possilby dirty. I know that my T5 pipes make a tingy sound but am not sure what the problem is. I am going to replace plugs again just incase I got a bad one but do you guys have any ideas? Here is what I know is done to my quad as this is how it was when i bought it. K&N Filters, Weisco Pistons (10 over), Tommey T5 Pipes and that the Carbs have been re-jetted. The build was done my Grand River Racing. Edited November 25, 2006 by Malfnet1 Quote
Malfnet1 Posted November 25, 2006 Author Report Posted November 25, 2006 First thing I would do is install a BR8EG plug, go to your local O'Reilly auto parts store and ask for a NGK stock number 3130 or a BR8EG. Then see how it runs. If it still runs funny then find a Dyno close to you and have it checked on the dyno. if you don't have a dyno close then go back to doing a plug chop and find someone who can read the plugs for you. I am not good at reading plugs so I always use a dyno. that is my suggestion. The B9ES is too cold of a plug to be using especially now that winter is coming. I am sure someone will chime in that knows more than I do and they can help as well. Thanks for that answer, I know my friends stock shee runs a BR8EG and what was in mine when i bought it was the 9's but that makes sense I will try that too. Quote

Well I put the 8's in and no difference. Could it be cloged up carbs that could be causing a low power issue? Quote
banshee freak Posted November 26, 2006 Report Posted November 26, 2006 My banshee had a similar problem and it ended up being the stupid TORS system that was cutting my carbs out....just unplug the little black box that is located on the frame in front of the left jug....hopefully that helps!! Do I leave it unplugged? Quote
Malfnet1 Posted November 26, 2006 Author Report Posted November 26, 2006 Unhooked the TORS box and still not 100% i guess it's time to take the carbs off and clean them and check on the reeds. Quote
