Snowmann Posted November 13, 2006 Report Posted November 13, 2006 Just picked up a banshee 2 weeks ago, went riding last weekend and everything was fine idle was a bit funky and seemed to spew coolant out the overflow if i sat and idled too long on the trail, this last friday went to warm it up and load the quad up on the truck and rode around for a little bit then stopped and she just died after kicking the living piss out of the thing saturday i finnaly got it to pop off... and warm up the left pipe is smoking like crazy and the pipe on that side is pretty wet and oily... poking around today i noticed that the intake boot is ripped on the right side... so im ordering up new boots ASAP (came with a boost bottle) its obviously coming off... bike has 28mm keihin carbs... took those apart today... the mains are marked 155's the slow jets are 42's and the needle is in the center position of 5 slots i popped the tip off the silencers and the left side has absolutely no packing in it... and it was rather damp and oily on the inside... the right side has some pack and is just your typical black powdery coating thats normal for exhaust... any ideas on what all this smoke is about? the bike is other wise stock in terms of the powerplant... the 28mm carbs, the soon to be removed boost bottle, b8es', a k&n and thats it... i messed with the carbs to finnaly get it to kick over too and ended up setting all the adjustment screws the same... one was completely different then the other first bike and needing some help... in advance Quote
