  5. complete '96 banshee with extras... the motor popped and needs a new crankshaft as the rod bearing melted down... also needs a new piston on that side... all and all around 300 bucks would get this running again. bike was recently torn down and rebuilt except for the motor with various new yamaha and aftermarket parts new coil race wiring harness kill tether switch relocated CDI and Coil to front of bike black wrinkle coat powder coated frame 450R shocks yzf 450 a-arm conversion keihen 28mm carbs K&N filter intake spacer blocks Renthal Bars Dura Blue Axle 12t front sprocket Turf Tamers on a seperate set of wheels some random aftermarket tires on stock wheels new swing arm bearings new wheel bearings I was riding the bike with out plastics as I JUST got the bike put back together when the engine let go... I have the plastics that the previous owner has race cut... but they are tired and have rivets and zipties holding various parts together etc... Bike would look like a million bucks with new plastics... - and well of course a rebuilt motor... looking to get $1500 as it sits out of the bike... Cases are split and problem is obvious.... just needs to be put back together... spring is hitting and i want a street bike... let me know kids
  6. Are paddles a must? and whats everyones take on non-banshee guys... if I go ill bring some non-banshee peeps as well... We've never ridden sand AT ALL we're all a little curious
  7. everything seems to work and clear fine... I'll try and get some pics up... http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseacti...eoID=1770517618 dunno if any of you are myspace whores lol but here was moments after the bike was all put back together from being torn down to the frame... entitled... weeeeee
  8. negatory... the 450r shocks fit perfect... except for like i said the top mounts need some spacers made to center the shock in the frame mount... if I remember correctly, the yfz's are 15.25 eye to eye? and the 450r's are 16.25? something like that... and my works were somewhere in the neighborhood of 14.25 eye to eye i believe... The only thing that through me for a loop in this setup was the fact that you reverse the upper mounts... on the yfz 450s and raptors the gusset on the upper a-arms is in the front... on the banshee you need to mount that to the rear to clear your shocks... also not paying attention i first went to put on my spindle on reverse... wow does that give you some wicked camber lol ::
  9. Ok got my banshee goin again and did this mod with a little twist... Everything bolts up great and with a little whack with the grinder the bottoms fit perfect... I had works shocks which are slightly shorter than stock banshee shocks... I bolted those up first and boy it would have made one hell of a TT bike but as far as trail riding goes I would have been SOL... I had a buddy parting out a 400ex that had some Honda 450R shocks on the front... I measured those in comparison to the 450YFZ shocks and the 450R shocks are 1" longer eye to eye.... So im using the YFZ a-arms with 450R shocks... The only trick here is you need to make 4 spacers (2 per side) for the top mount of the shock on the 450R shocks... The eye let is roughly .5" narrower then the upper frame mount on the banshee frame... So I made 2 per side .25" spacers to center the shock. Last nite was my first decent test ride and the setup works great... The only thing I dont like Is i can barely fit the damn thing in the back of the pickup now It is literally 6" wider overall... In comparison to a 700 Raptor and a stock width 400ex you will be 1' wider... handling is AMAZING... its hillarious looking at your trails in the snow and it looks like a god damn small car was climbing hills :yelrotflmao: I can pitch it into ANY corner at ANY speed and be confident shes gonna hold I love it...
  10. Came on the quad when I purchased it... unclear about their history but seemed to work well in the couple of months I used them... Im missing one sleeve for the top mounting hole... but it can be purchased from works... Not sure what these things go for... Im gonna open it up at $200 OBO Dont feel bad if you 'low ball' me, I might take it... but like $50 ain't gonna happen folks snowmann33@mchsi.com for emails preferably over PM's otherwise reply here... Thanks
  11. Is the swing arm a brand name? shoot me a price either way... and on the PT's possibly interested in both make shipping better
  12. Im in the process of gusseting the frame and while the areas Ive done thus far are obvious as there were already cracks and what not the foot peg area is not so obvious I know this is a trouble spot on the banshee but how are people gusseting this area in... I have no cracks YET in this area so Im not sure what takes the grunt of the stress... some pics would be awesome and while you're at it how about some pics of other crucial areas So far Ive done between the subframes under the seat, the steering stop, and the steering tower back down to the frame... this one I think was the best as previously I could bend the tower back and forth just by putting weight on it... and it wasnt even cracked! just the flex in the tubing, now its rock solid... the front upper shock mounts look like they could use some beefing up too... any pics of peoples ideas?
  13. every time i hit a creek crossing my 'shee bogs way down after im out... today as soon as I got out i popped the airbox to see if i was covering the filter with water - the airbox was bone dry no water getting in there... I run a K&N with a prefilter in the stock airbox yesterday I popped the stator cover after washing the bike and noticed I had water in there, So today before riding i dryed everything up and used rtv around the rubber stator cover gasket to ensure no water was getting in there - I also smeared some on the little grommet that passes from the front sprocket area to the stator housing. I also smeared the inside of my spark plug boots with di-electric grease. And I have new intake boots and gaskets from the jugs back to the airbox... Im thinking electrical... are there any common places banshees take on water and start doing this? It just falls on its face and runs super rough for 5-10 minutes after a water crossing... then it cleans up and runs great again. any ideas kids? where should I start looking? The previous owner has some cut wires which im assuming were for the TORS or whatever as he has 28mm keihens on now... but Im doubting these would do anything if they got wet?
