kojack Posted October 25, 2006 Report Posted October 25, 2006 Anyone mixing alky and what ratio are you using. I just picked up a alky banshee that runs great. The manual says to mix 6 oz klotz bealoil for every gallon of alky. I spoke to k&T and some guys that have a shop here in town and they say 3 to 4 of redline. Anyone have any thoughts? Quote
nitroburner13 Posted October 25, 2006 Report Posted October 25, 2006 i run klotz and i put a whole quart into every 5 gallons. it works out to be around 16:1. you have to remember that there is literally twice as much fuel going through your engine so you need twice as much oil. Quote
badassbanshee479 Posted October 25, 2006 Report Posted October 25, 2006 I am running klotz super technoplate at 32:1 same as gas. Quote
kojack Posted October 25, 2006 Author Report Posted October 25, 2006 I am running klotz super technoplate at 32:1 same as gas. is that the klotz that smells great? With caster oil. How long have you been doing that. My thought is I will be running the engine for a while to get to the places im going to play with it. Do you normally just race your then put it away, or do you screw around with it to. Quote
badassbanshee479 Posted October 25, 2006 Report Posted October 25, 2006 been running alky for about 3 months now, I mostly drag race it, and make passes up and down the beach at the dunes. you have to be careful with alky, it is consumed at twice the rate of gas so your gas milage will be greatly decressed. also you can suck the float bowls dry if you hold it wide open to long! I have the aftermarket billet float bowls on mine and I also cut one float off of my carbs to prevent it from runnning out of fuel. you can also run a fuel pump that runs off of your engine pulses. olny way to run out of fuel here is to suck the gas tank dry  Quote
