Bandit Posted October 24, 2006 Report Posted October 24, 2006 Before a ride ill tighten all the bolts down, and when i get done the chain loosed up and the axle is cocked.Looking from back, the right side back. Its like i dont have adjusters on it,but they are. If anyone know what the problem might be, please help! Quote
wesw Posted October 24, 2006 Report Posted October 24, 2006 do teh sprockets line up?? lift the bike up on a stand or something and grab the axle and swinger see if it moves side to side. your carrier might be worn or swinger might have issues. Quote
Hollister_Hitman Posted October 24, 2006 Report Posted October 24, 2006 use some locktite. make sure the adjusters are properly adjusted because the upper and lower carrier bolts aren't enough to hold it in place. Also torque all the bolts to specs Quote
Bandit Posted October 24, 2006 Author Report Posted October 24, 2006 I checked that. It will move a 1/2 inch of the adjuster and everything is still tight. Ill loosen the two bolts and the axel will move back in place against the adjusters. Chain wil be tight and axle striaght, ill tighten everything down and go ride for 30 min. Come back and axel is crooked. Quote
Hollister_Hitman Posted October 24, 2006 Report Posted October 24, 2006 If everthing is tight and adjusted properly and the axle still moves it is most likely your bearings in the axle carrier. Just the axle will move or will the swingarm move too? Quote
Bandit Posted October 24, 2006 Author Report Posted October 24, 2006 them 2 adjusters are the only thing that keeps it striaght? I can turn them adjusters till chain is too tight, with the carrier bolts slightly loosened and i can still move the axle on the right side forward by hand. The whole carrier will be moved back on the right side. I really dont know what the deal is. Quote

The adjusters keep it straight but the upper and lower bolts must be tight. The upper needs to be tightened to like 84 flbs and the bottom like 46. The adjusters keep it straight as well as the upper and lower bolts. Make sure that the adjusters are adjusted the same on both sides. Also when you do this the quad has to be off the ground. If it is straight after adjusting them then tightend the upper and lower. Quote
Bandit Posted October 24, 2006 Author Report Posted October 24, 2006 Can adjuster get worn out some how? or maybe the swing arm bolt holes where the carrier bolts too? Cause the adjuster bolts are still set the same. and carrier bolts are still tight. But the whole carrier is crooked. You can just look at it with your eye and see it. Ill do what you said and torque them to them specs and see what happens. Quote
Hollister_Hitman Posted October 24, 2006 Report Posted October 24, 2006 look at the disc brake rotor and see if it is parallel with the swingarm. Quote
