WEAK SPARK

hey all, we'll went to go riding this weekend, warmed my bike up, put my gear on and she wouldn't start back up. i'm getting spark out of my wires without the boot (plug end) on. spark seems weak to say the least. i am getting new boots. i am getting a meter to test all the lines later tonight also. my question is, would a stator or coil work part way. work but not enough to start the bike, or it either works or doesn't. i just want to be clear on how the parts work. i've been going over all my connections and grounding points. until i get the meter i'm not sure what else to do.

 

just wanted to get some opions.

make sure the mounts where the coil attaches to are getting a good ground to the coil. grind the paint off if need be..could be your coil is bad too. mine was dointhe same thing having a weak spark. i replaced it and its fine now.
