Hubie000 Posted October 13, 2006 Report Posted October 13, 2006 (edited) I just a got a "hand-me down" quad from a relative for my son. '01 Polaris Sportsman 90cc. (I know it's a "Polaris" but the price was right) It ran great all day saturday and Sunday morning. Then after lunch on Sun. i won't start.?? I replaced the plugs, I even replaced the ignition coil....The push button starter is working fine, it's just not firing... Anyone ever work on these things??? I feel like an idiot...I can fix my banshee but not this frickin thing :shoothead: Anyone here of the "stator" going bad on these? I don't think i'm getting any spark??? racer Posted October 13, 2006 Report Posted October 13, 2006 i think there is a kill tether on those quads somewhere, make sure that is in working condition. check the kill switch, sounds stupid i know but it happens. and i have replaced a stator on a scrambler 90 before, so it does happen. BTW, they are a PITA to do. Quote
Animalman294 Posted October 13, 2006 Report Posted October 13, 2006 Yeah, you need to back track the spark. If you pull the plug, put it back in the boot and touch the head with the grounding strap, or the threads and you'll see if it is getting spark. Also make sure the fuel is getting to the carbs, by disconnecting the line at the carb and check for free flowin' fuel. Quote
